چکیده

In the past 15 years, stateless exploration, a collection of techniques for automated and systematic testing of concurrent programs, has experienced wide-spread adoption. As stateless exploration moves into practice, becoming part of testing infrastructures of large-scale system developers, new practical challenges are being identified. In this paper we address the problem of efficient allocation of resources to stateless exploration runs. To this end, this paper presents techniques for estimating the total runtime of stateless exploration runs and policies for allocating resources among tests based on these runtime estimates. Evaluating our techniques on a collection of traces from a real-world deployment at Google, we demonstrate the techniques’ success at providing accurate runtime estimations, achieving estimation accuracy above 60% after as little as 1% of the state space has been explored. We further show that these estimates can be used to implement intelligent resource allocation policies that meet testing objectives more than twice as efficiently as the round-robin policy.

Cycle Time Reduction and Runtime Rebalancing by Reallocating Dependent Tasks

Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) is a complex information system that provides designing, administrating, and improving the business processes. Task allocation to human resources is one of the most important issues which should be managed more efficiently in BPMS. Task allocation algorithms are defined in order to meet the various policies of organizations. The most important of these...

Multi-objective and Scalable Heuristic Algorithm for Workflow Task Scheduling in Utility Grids

To use services transparently in a distributed environment, the Utility Grids develop a cyber-infrastructure. The parameters of the Quality of Service such as the allocation-cost and makespan have to be dealt with in order to schedule workflow application tasks in the Utility Grids. Optimization of both target parameters above is a challenge in a distributed environment and may conflict one an...

An Elastic Scheduling Algorithm For Resource Co-Allocation Based on System Generated Predictions With Priority

Resource Co-Allocation is basically used to execute multiple site jobs in a large scale computing environments with secure, faultless and in transparent manner. To be precise we are actually allocating multiple resources for different jobs taking into account the time parameter. Here we make use of the Scheduling queue and Resource Co-Allocation to reduce the Turn-around time with an advanced c...

Optimization of majority protocol for controlling transactions concurrency in distributed databases by multi-agent systems

In this paper, we propose a new concurrency control algorithm based on multi-agent systems which is an extension of majority protocol. Then, we suggest a clustering approach to get better results in reliability, decreasing message passing and algorithm’s runtime. Here, we consider n different transactions working on non-conflict data items. Considering execution efficiency of some different...

Resource allocation for remote desktop sessions in Utility Grids

Emerging large scale utility computing systems such as Grids promise computing and storage to be provided to end users as a utility. System management services deployed in the middleware are a key to enabling this vision. Utility Grids provide a challenge in terms of scale, dynamism, and heterogeneity of resources and workloads. In this paper, we present a model based architecture for resource ...
